Mesa Labs Partners with American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)

July 7, 2017

Lakewood, Colorado, July 7, 2017 – Mesa Labs has partnered with AAHA to provide much needed spore testing services to veterinary clinics across the country. The AAHA was established in 1933 and is best known for its accreditation of companion animal practices. One of their goals is to enable veterinarians to “successfully conduct their practices and maintain their facilities with high standards of excellence”1.

Having high standards of excellence includes maintaining superb sterilization methods and complying with all associated regulations. It is well known in the veterinarian industry that sterilization is important. It provides assurances for the safety of the team as well as the patients/pets. Most veterinarians use autoclaves to sterilize their instruments and tools needed when working with animals.

Mesa manufactures a variety of biological indicators (BIs) for veterinary’s sterilization needs. BIs are the only definitive method of demonstrating sterilization as they show if microbial life has been destroyed. By following Mesa’s use guidelines, veterinaries can prevent endangering pets.

It is vital to the safety of veterinary teams as well as their patients to properly monitor the sterilization process at the clinics. It is imperative that autoclaves are monitored to reduce the risk of cross-contamination and other sterilization issues that may arise. Mesa Labs offers various levels of spore testing services from weekly to quarterly testing offering online results and discounts for AAHA accredited facilities.
